Competition for Young Film Makers

One of the folded goals of the Addis International Film festival is to provide young Ethiopian filmmakers, many of whom are just beginning their careers, with a supportive and enthusiastic audience for their creative efforts. For this reason, the AIFF is encouraging young Ethiopian Film Makers to submit their documentaries that run from 30 seconds to 1 minute to the Film Festival for our competition. The winner will of course be rewarded for his/her effort. The documentaries are not limited to a topic, as long as there are related to the theme ‘Pause for reflection’.

The deadline to submit documentaries is on March 15th , 2010. We are looking forward to see the documentaries!

Creativity Contest

The Addis Film Festival is aiming at engaging students with the Festival’s theme “PAUSE FOR REFLECTION” through different channels of creativity. Therefore, we would like to invite students not more than 18 years to participate in the “Addis International Festival’s Creativity Contest 2010”.
We are looking for the best short story, drawing, cartoon, photograph etc. on the topic of ‘Pause for Reflection’.
We will promote and publish the best creative entries in the brochure of the 4th Addis International Film Festival and additionally, they will be printed in one of the well-known Ethiopian newspapers.

AFRICA RISING travels through remote villages in five countries, weaving together dynamic footage and the poignant stories of girls personally affected by FGM to show how African women and men are putting an end to this human rights violation.
